Coconut is perennial plantation crop which needs our best attention to keep the tree healthy to yield better every year. A healthy coconut tree yields around 200-240 coconut per year and an average tree yields around 100-200 coconuts per year. Every coconuts tree can be made to yield and average of 300 coconuts per year by proper nutrition and maintaining the nutritional balance of the tree. Coconut Nutritional Balance: The coconut tree needs to be fertigated twice in year once in July-August and next in December-January. Fertigation has to be accompanied by addition of around 50 kg of well decomposed organic manure per tree per application. This can be enriched by the addition of 500 grams of beneficial microbes namely Azospirillum, Phosphobacterium, Potash Mobiliser, Zinc Solubiliser and silicate Solubiliser. The above enriched organic manure can be applied around the tree by taking a trench nearly 3-4 feet away from the root region when there is adequate moisture in the soil. This needs to be done twice in a year as stated above. Micronutrients: Micronutrients play a major role in the productivity of the coconut trees and certain nutrients are more important for the retention of the coconuts in the trees till ripening or preventing immature fall.
►Certain micro nutrients are essential to prevent diseases and mite attack. Hence a properly balanced micro nutrient application @ one kg per tree twice a year is most important. We have made a thorough study of the coconut tree requirements and have formulated a COCONUT BIO MIX to apply at one kg per tree once in six months time along with 50 kg of FYM. Direction to Use: The COCONUT BIO MIX 1kg consists of 2 packets. One 400 grams pack contains beneficial bio fertilizers required for one tree and another pack 600 grams contains a mixture of essential micro nutrients required for one coconut tree for healthy growth and increased yield. At a distance of 2 feet from the tree make 8 holes of 3/4 feet depth 2 inch dia. Apply bio and micro nutrient packages in these holes alternatively and close.
